Airspace World was fantastic seeing you so many familiar faces again and new faces! 

At Airspace World in Lisbon, many of the conversations we had with ANSPs focused on GreenATM.

One question came up repeatedly during our discussions:

How do you move from GreenATM Level 3 to Level 4?

The answer is often simpler than many organisations expect.

A Level 3 ANSP is typically an organisation with strong environmental initiatives.

A Level 4 ANSP is an organisation where sustainability has become embedded into governance, processes and decision-making.

The difference is rarely the number of projects.

The difference is structure.

A Level 4 organisation demonstrates:

• consistent methodologies
• traceable evidence
• organisation-wide ownership
• aligned ESG and operational reporting
• repeatable processes

Level 4 is not simply an environmental achievement.

It is a governance statement.

Or simply said

Level 3 is an ANSP with green projects and Level 4 leans towards a Green ANSP!

Growing GreenATM momentum
 
Another encouraging trend we observed was the growing number of ANSPs exploring GreenATM participation.

Several organisations are evaluating GreenATM submissions for the first time.

Others are considering GreenATM gap analyses to better understand their current maturity level and identify opportunities for progression.

Meanwhile, ANSPs that have already achieved accreditation are increasingly focusing on moving from project-based sustainability efforts towards more integrated ESG structures.

This reflects a broader industry evolution.

Sustainability is becoming less about individual initiatives and more about systems.

Looking ahead

As expectations continue to evolve, the organisations that move fastest are not those introducing the most initiatives.

They are the ones that structure, align and make their sustainability performance defensible and repeatable.
